Just 48 hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin stood in front of a crowd at the Kremlin formalizing the illegal annexation of regions in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the symbolic eastern town of Lyman has been cleared of Russian troops. Located in Donesk, Lyman is one of four regions that Putin proclaimed to be part of Russia on Friday. President Joe Biden is visiting Puerto Rico and Florida this week to witness the massive destruction caused by recent hurricanes.

In Florida, the death toll has risen to 47 in the wake of Hurricane Ian — one of the strongest storms to ever hit the country. As Jennifer Johnson reports, evacuation efforts continue for survivors cut off on Florida's barrier islands.Over in Canada, Quebecers go to the polls on Monday. Politicians in that province have been out campaigning for 36 days.

Tomorrow voters will have their say. Special events took place in Canada's capital to mark Canada’s second annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As Redmond Shannon reports, these events mark further escalation in the conflict.In the U.S., Hurricane Ian has made its second landfall, this time in South Carolina.
