They were shattered after Hurricane Ian.A day after Hurricane Ian made landfall as a category 4 storm, the road to Fort Myers Beach is littered with debris, buildings blown apart, and boats stacked on cars.In one spot, a rope from the back of a boat was still attached to a piece of the dock.

Crews work to help those hit by Hurricane Ian in Florida as storm moves into Carolinas


Hurricane Ian is back on shore after its second landfall on the U.S. The storm struck near Georgetown, South Carolina Friday afternoon with winds of 85 mph, heavy rain and surging waves. In its wake, officials in Florida confirmed at least 17 dead with vast scenes of wreckage along the state's southwestern coastline.

Riding Out Hurricane Ian | Cape Coral Florida


This was our experience during the eye of Hurricane Ian at the height of the flooding. The wind blew from about 11:30am to past midnight. The flooding occurred between 2:30 and 6:30 and did not completely subside for two days.

 Not everyone was as lucky. Please pray for the families less fortunate. Our close neighbors had left so we knew we didn’t need to check on them.

Flood waters are pushing levees to their breaking points. This afternoon, a levee near the Myakka River was compromised, forcing hundreds to flee. The death toll across the state is exploding, with at least 77 now dead.

About 35 of those from Lee County alone. According to the Insurance Information Institute, only about 18% of Florida homeowners have flood insurance, most of that through the federal government.
